la belle personne

see: la belle personne (the beautiful person), a french movie directed by christophe honore, starring louis garrel, léa seydoux and grégoire leprince-ringuet. *movie stills from ifrance* i love the cast and the quirky storyline is full of surprises. its quirkiness distincts this movie from hollywood's version of romance or drama. see if you like this. or if you have already seen it, i'm keen to know what you think. and share with me if you've seen any other good movies lately?

  1. I am a fan of Christophe Honoré, and I very much enjoyed La Belle Personne. I just wish Lea Seydoux had been more convincing in her acting, but her looks were perfect. She is a true beauty and mesmerizing, just like her character should be. I recommend "Les chansons d'amour" if you've never seen it, by the same director :)

  5. I Love this movie, it's a reading of Mme de Lafayettes's Princesse de Clèves.
You can see each film of Christophe Honoré, each one is beautiful.
Bertrand Tavernier made a Princesse de Montpensier, with Gregoire Leprince Ringuet, also taken from Mme de Lafayette. Georgeous movie.
(and sorry for my english, I'm french ;-)

  6. I don't watch much french cinema, even though a lot of my favourite films are french. I should watch more.

This film looks intriguing, the girl has such beautiful features - like her dark hair and her striking eyes.

  9. I love this film, as well as Dans Paris. I have a weakness for Louis Garrel. Another favorite with Louis Garrel and the blonde guy from La Belle Personne is Chansons D'Amour. It has singing in it, but I think it's done well and nothing like a typical musical.
