melbourne

it was great to get away from sydney for a little bit of change and just relaxing in this beautiful city. no i didn't go to melbourne for australian open, it would have been fun but it wasn't really within my budget as this trip was a bit of a last minute plan. all weekend we were just walking around, enjoying the sun, coffee, food (a lot of them!), street art and quirky laneway shops. i really had a great time. below are a few favourites. i will be uploading more photos in my flickr.

visit: cookie bar for great food and great atmosphere. we only had lunch there but it seems like a cool place at night too, especially if you love beer. the seafood red curry is very yummy.

visit: chimmy's bakery for great coffee and nice breakfast or brunch. i'll definitely have to come back to this place next time when i visit melbourne again.

visit: little cupcakes for the tiniest yet prettiest and most delicious cupcakes! you don't want to miss this one.

explore: melbourne street art graffiti at hosier land and union lane. these two i think are from the same artist called deb - you can find her signature if you take a closer look at both artworks.

lykke li

went to see lykke li's gig at oxford art factory last night, she was brilliant! although they made us wait for 2.5 hours without opening act playing at all... oh well, thank goodness it was a really good gig. lykke li is just this one cute crazy (in a good way!) quirky little woman. she was just super energetic, she kept dancing and jumping here and there on the stage at all time. it was a great performance and great music, very entertaining and enjoyable. if you're into her music and she's stopping by at your city, i'd definitely recommend you to go!
